May is the Holly Mary month

May – is one of the most beautiful month in a year- it is the month of the Mary worship. In Poland we gather around chapels, holly figures. 

The first liturgy was held in the XIX century in Płock, Toruni, Nowy Sącz and Krakowie. Later it was spread around the whole country.

The central part of the May lithurgy is the Litania Loretańska, one of the most wonderful anthems to Holly Mary. The anthem appeared in XII century, probably in France. Its name was taken after the Loretto town in Italy.

In the anthem following Mary’s virtues are named. There are 49 of them, in Poland there are 50 of them.

Everyone is invited to take part in the beautiful Mary worshiping.

 GREAT THURSDAY

        On Great Thursday we recollect the last Lors’s Super. Jesus ate it with his friends right before his death. During the Last Super Jezus gave us his body to eat and his blond to drink.

GREAT FRIDAY

       On Great Friday we recollect Jezus death. He loved us so much that he put himself on the cross. He carried it on the Calvaria mountain. We thank to Jezus for setting us free from evil.    

GREAT SATURDAY

        Great Saturday is one the day of silenie becouse Jezus lies In the grave. We look forward to his coming alive. On that day we bring food for special blessing.

 RESURRECTION

        We all know that on the third day Jezus put heavy stone awal ang walk out of his grave. Soldiers on guard were so terrified that they fell down. The greatest miracle happened. Jesus resurrected.

We met Jezus during every mass.

Lent

In not long time the Lent time is coming. Priests are going to wear purple clothes. Lent lasts 40 days. It is the recollection of the Jesus’ 40 days staying on the desert. Its first day is the Ash Wednesday. On that day we coming to the church and the priest put some ash onto out forheads.

Lent is the time of great getting things clear. It not only means the cleaning of our flats but also tidying of our hearts.

Lent is the time of preser and good deeds. Everyone of us should promise himself/herself to be better. In this time we are laerning to say sorry and forgive ourselves. Think how to do the best.

Christmas

On 25 December we celebrate the special birthday. It is the birthday of the Earth’s God. It is very important to all people. They even started to count time again. It is as from that birthday everything started. We realizm that God’s birthday changed everything: history, people and oue bond with God. The new time became. Times of love and our friendship with God started.

God’s son was born from the Holy Mary in order to be born as a human. Jesus wanted to become a child- like others children. God got so close to us that It become the God with us. God’s son was named Jesus- what means „God is salvation”.

We are waiting for God’s help

           We are ashamed when we did something wrong. We cannot change the evil. We are looking for help. When the first poeple made evil and couldn’t change it to better the God promised to sent them the Saviour who would defit Satan and evil in the world. During Advent period we are recollecting His coming.

Advent symbols

           During the Adwent period we go to the church with special made lamps.

Another symbol is the advent wreath with candles in it.

           Next symbol is the thick candle with the white ribbon around it.

Preyer for the dead

1 November is the Dead Festiwal. 2 November is the time of remembering the dead. The most important is the preyer for the dead. Priests read the dead’s names In churches. They are not anonimous. We are going to need such preyers after our death someday.  

Beads– seems to be ordinary preyer- long and boring one. Is it for sure?

It has been counted that a child repeats “mummy” word three hundred times. It is not boring for a child or its mummy not at all. She reacts on every child’s calling. The same is with the beads. Holy Mary is our mummy. We are like a small baby while telling bead.

Whenever Holy Mary wanted to tell the world something important she appeared to chosen people. By telling bead we are giving our sorrows, problems and joys away to our mummy. The bead has its our power. Try to find about it yourself and talk to Mary holding a bead in your hands.
